However, after being mocked by the hosts (Janeane Garofalo, Chris Kattan, Denis Leary, and Jon Stewart), he took the bat that he was given to destroy the tape, and started breaking down the set; the show quickly transitioned to a commercial. Van Winkle managed to cut Stewart's hand.
