I am pulled in two directions....
Herstory is a term which originated as a neologism. In feminist discourse, it is used to refer to history ("his story") from a feminist and/or lesbian perspective, emphasising the role of women or told from a woman's point of view. The word can be considered an example of folk etymology, a linguistic term for the modification of a word or phrase based on an analogy or a false etymology which is popularly believed to be true (see also faux amis). In this case, the word history (from the Greek historia, meaning "a learning or knowing by inquiry") is etymologically unrelated to the possessive pronoun his.

On the one hand, I recognize the power of words and the neglect of women as they concern the historical narrative. On the other hand, this is such a clumsy and stupid attempt that it throws me into herstrionics. Oh, what's the word you ask? Well, let me explain.
'In psychiatry, histrionic personality disorder (HPD), or hysterical personality disorder, is a personality disorder which involves a pattern of excessive emotional expression and attention-seeking, including an excessive need for approval and inappropriate seductiveness, that usually begins in early adulthood.
The essential feature of the histrionic personality disorder is a pervasive and excessive pattern of emotionality and attention-seeking behavior. These individuals are lively, dramatic, enthusiastic, and flirtatious. They may be inappropriately sexually provocative, express strong emotions with an impressionistic style, and be easily influenced by others.
The cause of this disorder is unknown, but childhood events and genetics may both be involved. It occurs more frequently in women than in men,'

Instead of the offensive and inaccurate 'his strionics' it's now 'her strionics'.
