I bet she doesn't even have her damn tamagotchi anymore.
In 1998, a French driver killed a cyclist and injured another after she took her eye off the road trying to save her Tamagotchi while driving.[1]

We become forgetful. It is easy to laugh at the stupidity of this one woman, but it is hard to laugh at the dissonance all car drivers experience. The fact of the matter is that we're driving several tons of steel at speeds much faster than we've been evolutionarily designed to handle, and a slight mistake could cause our own death or the deaths of several others. If we truly thought about the seriousness and danger of driving, we would most likely be unable to. So now, the pendelum swings the other way. People are so relaxed and calm when driving that many scarcely pay attention to it at all.
